Borsa Istanbul Hits Record High
The BIST 100 index began the week at 11,547.72 points and advanced by 203.62 points compared to Friday’s finish. Throughout the day, the index fluctuated between a low of 11,510.19 and a high of 11,726.18.
Market activity showed that 67 listed companies gained value, while 27 declined relative to the previous close.
The overall capitalization of the BIST 100 reached approximately 11.56 trillion Turkish liras ($269.6 billion), with daily trading volume recorded at 144.7 billion Turkish liras ($3.36 billion).
Meanwhile, global commodity prices reflected notable movements: gold stood at $4,450.10 per ounce, and Brent crude oil traded near $61.10 per barrel as of 6:20 p.m. local time (1520 GMT).
On the currency front, the U.S. dollar was valued at 43.0310 Turkish liras, the euro at 50.3650, and the British pound at 58.0615 Turkish liras.
